Weekly Classes

Studio 7 – 22 Mansfield Street – Partick – G11 5QP

Some students like to bring their own mat, but we do provide yoga mats, blocks, blankets and equipment free of charge for all our classes. Classes are practised bare-foot, and we recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing that are easy to move around in. It’s also worth taking some water to hydrate after class. Stuck on what class? Please scroll through the day and time of the week that suits you best and please get in touch with us (details below each class). We love to hear from you.

£6.50 per class or £55 for a 10-class card

Kerry started Pilates whilst working in an office and was suffering from common lower back pain associated with long hours spent at a desk. Having found that Pilates relieved her back pain and increased her overall feeling of well being, she decided to train as a Pilates teacher and to learn why and how the method worked so well. When Kerry completed the course she couldn’t wait to share the exercises with others and still enjoys teaching as much as when she started! Kerry has a Mat Pilates (Level 3) CYQ Central YMCA qualification and continues her development through various Hanson Pilates workshops (Ante and Post Natal Pilates and Modifying Original Moves) and the APPI’s (The Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) Small Equipment and Shoulder Rehabilitation training courses.

Week upon week you will learn a collection of fundamental yoga moves to build cardio-vascular health, body strength, and a new level of balance and flexibility to your body and mind. In the Beginners Yoga Classes there is plenty of time to get into the yoga posture, lots of tuition to get to grips with the basics and hands on help to help you find the right alignment for you.
Most students are advised to stay at Beginners level for sometime, but your teacher will guide you and keep you right. Many students also prefer the slower pace of the Beginners class, the time-slot, and continue at this class without wishing to change.
Has the course has already started? Please contact the teacher and ask if there is space for you to join mid-course (paying £9 for any classes outstanding).

Seasonal Yoga for All Levels with Anna Daintrey

starts back 6th January

All Levels (inc Beginners) – Drop in ‘no need to call in advance’

£10

Have you ever thought about how strange it is to have to do the same things at the same times throughout the year, regardless of how you feel, how dark or light it is outside, or what the weather is like?

Now we spend so much time with computers and electric lighting, we can get whatever food we want whenever we want, it is easy to forget what season it is and lose touch with the changing energy of nature.

Here’s how to get back in touch – Seasonal Yoga!

A Hatha yoga class that changes with the Seasons, using a different emphasis on the Yoga postures as the year passes to tune you in to each Season, giving you the best possible energy for that time of year.

Yoga postures are used to activate the same meridians (energy lines in the body) as used in Tai Chi, Acupuncture and other Traditional Chinese Medicine practices, boosting your immune system and leaving you feeling energised, strong, flexible, balanced, calm and relaxed.

Functional Yoga with Colin Shreenan

£10 Drop in (no need to call in advance) or £49.50 6 week course

The emphasis of this approach is not on achieving postures, but to use them to undo tension and find integration. In this class we only do a handful of postures but we do them intensely. A key aim is to lengthen and release the spine and never compromise the comfort of the spine to achieve any particular shape. So postures aren’t forced onto the body – the body is encouraged to open into the postures. The movements that we use are excellent for rehabilitation and prehabilitation, complementing athletes and sports enthusiasts with their training by enhancing performance. If you want to improve your posture, relieve pain, increase your range of movement, build strength and flexibility then this class is for you. The practice is an ongoing exploration of the tensegrity in our body structure using functional movement, breathing and utilising our relationship to gravity. We train our attention so that we can feel more, impose less and allow the intelligence of the body to reveal itself.

This class is suitable for all levels, including beginners.

Sunday

9am – 10.15am

Pregnancy Yoga with Heather Burns

starts back 10th January

Drop in ‘no need to book in advance’

£10

from 14 weeks

No Class Sunday 14th February

Suitable for all women, from 14 weeks pregnant, whether new to yoga or with years of practice. The weekly sessions include yoga postures to build strength and stamina for pregnancy and labour,  breathing techniques and deep relaxation to allow mums to remain calm and focused during pregnancy and birth. Pregnancy yoga classes use yoga practices to gently support both the physical and emotional aspects of woman in the perinatal period.

Each week we relax the body and mind, we work the body gently in asana to improve strength and stamina throughout the trimesters, working on those little physical niggles that can accompany growing new life . Most importantly we also cover aspects of pregnancy and delivery from a yogic point of view, working on breathing techniques to help make that transition to motherhood and beyond. The breathing techniques I teach in class encompass this, working with mothers body and baby together very much in the moment encouraging mothers to be in the moment and find that stillness.’
